| I decided to form this guide because I've had what I guess you can call breakthrough in brush maitenance.
Brush Cleaning:
What you'll need: -shampoo or clarifying shampoo's even better -brush cleaner/duster type tool..@ walgreens for cheap..a comb doesn't work well It's a small, compact, thin tool with a hard bristle side and a soft, fine side (There are brush cleaner soaps I found when I searched online but I've never seen or tried these.) What I'm talking about is a tool I found in the walgreens section where the brushes are, they should be there..Use my description if you're going to try and find it)
I will go back to walgreens soon and find the brand name..
alcohol
How to clean brush: This is assuming your brush hasn't been maintained well .... - Use lukewarm water and get the brush bristles wet - Apply a little shampoo and work through thoroughly with fingers - 3 Put bristles underwater I rinse while using the brush cleaner to brush out lint or dust while the brush is underwater (make it a brief 10 or so) strokes - 4 Hit down on a hard/flat surface until u don't see shampoo and residue - 5 Use the brush cleaner to try and take out any lint/dust/hair you see (Repeat 3-5 until you're satified but don't overdue it [20x is overduing it]) -When youre done with the rinsing cycles, look where there is lint and hit those spots with the brush cleaner diligently while damp - Run your hands through the brush downwards to catapault water off and tap on hard surface to get it dry as you can -Lay brush bristle down/wood up to air dry (.....)
After dry:
- run alcohol along the wood with a cotton ball and later make sure you wash your hands after applying moisturizer so you don't get that oil in your brush after that you can wash ur hands after applying moisturizer so you don't get oil/grease on ur brush or just use alcohol every so often. and use the brush cleaner to dust out any loose hairs, lint or dust P.S. while doing the washing try to never hold the brush with the bristles upwards so the water won't soak in the wood. But, some will unevitably, and the risk of ur brush cracking is there So, if you find your bristles falling out more than normal, get a new brush and take care of it from the start to avoid a need for thorough cleaning; That will lower the risk of your brush dying on you. Fact: Hot water will expand the hole the bristles re set in causing them to fall out while cold water won't effectively eliminate bacteria
now..
Maitenance: What I learned, and am about to tell you, nobody I know does.. Niggas be, " like WTF?".
Keep your brush in a plastic bag. It won't collect dust while sitting and won't collect lint in your pocket that built at the base where the wood meets the bristles. (If you have this clean your #%*^ asap) With a new brush, or one that's been cleaned thoroughly, if u keep it in a bag, you only have to give it a a quick shampoo clean rinse and brushing out with the brush cleaner every so often you see some buildup of dust an do a quick rinse with a small amount of shampoo to get products out.
You can also use the bag to do that prison meth
Extra tip: With a brush that's extra hard or a brush u just want to get softer:
boil water and emerge the bristles under the water (use something to hold the brush, or maybe oven mittens work, so that u don't burn ur hand) do it little by little, letting the brush dry completely than boiling it again. this is because the brush will seem softert han it is until it's completely dry
I did this on my reinforced diane and no bristles have fallen out abnormally so I rule it safe.
extra tip 2: I always do a really quick clean the day I wash my hair after a cut because after a cut a lot of loose hair is on the brush...that's the only time I wash my brush because it stay clean in my bag ..I mean really quick rinse and mostly using the cleaner to brush out hairs..
fact 2: h20 brushing or shower brushing will soften your brush over time
End

| Also be sure to take a comb and dig in at the bottom of the brush row by row to make sure all the dandruff ain't built up under there. | |
