Welcome to the site.
If you are wolfing without an established pattern then it is unlikely that you will see waves on the surface. The trick to wolfing is that in order to have waves increase in depth, then you have to grow your hair out. But if you have an undefined pattern underneath there is nothing to show. When you cut your hair, you may seem some of the efforts of previous training.
What creates a wave is significant training by brushing. Your hair needs to have sufficient length to straighten and recoil over an over again. Using excessive pomade will compact your hair but will not form waves. Pomade should be used sparingly because it blocks out moisture because of its petroleum base.
If you are wolfing without any progress, consider cutting your hair to length that you can maintain. If you have any questions, ask. The only dumb question is the one that you don’t ask.
