Good post. There was some disagrement in a thread last week regarding du-rags/wave caps causing hairlines to recede.

people are getting mixed up on what a receding hair line is. From what I understand is that a receding hair is when your normal hair line goes back, this is an indicator of hair loss. Now what a durag cause when you tie it too tight and wear it too much is a 'balding line'. Its a line that normally appear at the back wear you tie your durag. Reason why the back suffers the most is cuz the bottom is that area that is brushed the least therefore the hair is unable to recover from being pressed down by the durag. I had a friend who developed this line and the best thing to do it to not tie your durag so tight or wear a wave cap inside you durag
