| [center]K, so I have a 1 year old, he's mixed and I want waves in his hair. I been braiding his hair since he was 5 months and combing it since the day he was born, so he's used to me being in his hair. He's very good about it by now. Anyways is this too young for waves? I been reading the stickies and can't find anything about age and toddlers with waves. I also [[under my moms influence]] just chopped off all his hair. He now has a fade [[its sick though believe that his barber loves him.]] I read that the best hair cut is a #2 WTG Can someone explain to me what that is?? I'm really into keepin my kids lookin super clean cut and stuff, my kids hair stays done and they've sorta both been trained to help with the maintenance of it. I know that you need a soft bristle brush moisturizer and a durag or wavecap for the waves and stuff, I just need to know if a 1 year old is too young and with the fade and all what I should do, if it's possible this young, to get his hair to the point where I can start him out with the waves.. Anyways, any kinda help you could give me would be great, Thanks!! :winkwink: | |

| WTG or the way your hair naturally grows and the #2 is the hair guard and their is no desired age group for waves..all you need is a moisturizer, a brush and durag...any more questions | |

| I would say 1 year old is to young, he has to be able to brush his own hair. W8 till he's about like 7 or whenever he can start brushin his own hair, and a #2 WTG is da ideal cut for all wavers, its when a barber puts on a #2 guard or 1/4 guard to the clippers. WTG means "With The Grain" which means the barber will cut his hair in the direction he brushes it. | |

| Yeah he can get waves..but to have nice waves take dedication..sumthin that a 1 year old doesn't have.....and we take cerain percations to keep our waves fresh like not puttin our heads on chairs n stuff,n not rustling them up..so Ithink it gon be hard to ,aintain the, while he so yung...but try it and keep us posted...that way sum1 else like urself can come tru and we can give em sum real knowlege | |

| We might have our youngest member. I was wondering the same thing myself. What would be to young to wave? The challenge might be getting him to sit still for the length of time that it takes for the wave process. You are going to need to brush his hair daily for weeks. I am not certain if that intense brushing might pose collateral damage to his newly forming hair follicles, hair shafts etc. I would inquire with his primary care physcian and the dermatologist. | |

| id say only use a soft brush, no product unless its like a hair lotion, and dont tie the durag too tight or use a loose stockin cap | |
